Bow Jackstaff
The First Navy Jack is a flag consisting of a rattlesnake, superimposed across 13 horizontal alternating red and white stripes with the moto, 'Don't Tread On Me'. SECNAV directed that all U.S. Navy ships raise the historic jack beginning on September 11th 2002 and continue to do so throughout the global war on terrorism.
