Higher Shelf Stones

Here lies the wreckage of RB-29A Superfortress 'Over Exposed' of the 16th Photographic Reconnaissance Squadron, United States Air Force. Which tragically crashed whilst descending through cloud on November 3rd 1948 killing all 13 crew. The aircraft was on a routine flight from RAF Scampton to RAF Burtonwood. It is doubtful the crew ever saw the ground.
